2008 Conference Plans
The University of Pittsburgh 's Student Chapter of IIE is very excited about introducing the first ever joint conference with the Pittsburgh Senior Chapter. This extended event will create greater opportunities for networking and provide a broad range of topics for those attending to enjoy. Below is the schedule for the conference so far, which will take place on March 27th -30th , 2008 :
The IE's of 2020: a Perfect Vision into the Next Generation of Industrial Engineers
-Thursday Evening, March 27th , 2008 :
- 4-6pm -Registration for Students and Senior Chapter Members
- 4-6pm -Career Fair
- 7pm-? -Social Events in Pittsburgh 's great restaurants
-Friday, March 28th , 2008 :
- 8:30-10:30am -Senior Chapter Speakers
- These speakers will be specifically geared towards what the industry representatives want to learn based on new technologies and industry innovations
- 10:30-11:45am -Panel Discussions
- 2:00-3:00pm -Technical Paper Competition
- 3:30- 5:00pm -Speed Networking Event
- This is our own professional twist on “Speed Dating,” where students and industry representatives each have five minutes to do a quick interview and exchange resumes/business cards before moving on to their next interview!
-Saturday, March 29th , 2008 :
- 9:00-12:00am -Senior Chapter Speakers
- 2:00-5:00pm -Afternoon Team Building Activities
- 5:30-11:00pm -Social Atop Pittsburgh 's Mount Washington :
- We are very excited to welcome all conference attendees to the LeMont for dinner, socializing, and our Key Note Speaker
